Dream Theater, the multi-platinum progressive rock icons, have unveiled a second single from their upcoming sixteenth studio album, Parasomnia. Set to release on February 7th, the album marks the band’s first with drummer Mike Portnoy back in the lineup since 2009.
The new track, “A Broken Man,” arrives with a visualizer created by Wayne Joyner and is now streaming online. According to a press release, the song “tells the story of a war veteran grappling with nightmares and insomnia caused by combat experiences.” It also incorporates audio from real veterans recounting their harrowing wartime memories.
Currently, Dream Theater are out on their 40th-anniversary tour, with a live album from the celebratory trek also in the works.
