As of this past October, Mike Portnoy has been welcomed back into GRAMMY Award-winning prog metal icons Dream Theater, and according to guitarist John Petrucci, the band is expected to begin working on their sixteenth full-length album together this month. In an interview with Guitar World, which is available below, Petrucci stated:
“Well, very soon. So, we start the new album in less than two weeks. And we’re looking forward to it. It’s really exciting to have Portnoy back in the band. We started the band together.”
He later added:
“We haven’t started working on new music. We haven’t written a note yet, but I’m sure when we get together, it’s just gonna be like old times. So, I’m really looking forward to doing that and diving in.”
