Drop Dead, Gorgeous have continued their comeback run with the release of a brand new song, “Cyanide.”
The track arrives as the latest entry in the band’s renewed wave of activity, following the release of “Ghosts” earlier this year. It also continues the momentum built through recent singles including “Six Feet,” “Burn,” and “Sink Your Teeth.”
Frontman Danny Stillman described the new song as an emotionally heavy and toxic love story, stating:
“It’s a dark love song for anyone who’s ever been addicted to someone they should’ve run from.”
Originally emerging out of Denver, Colorado during the mid-2000s post-hardcore boom, Drop Dead, Gorgeous became one of the defining acts of the era thanks to their blend of chaotic breakdowns, synth-driven atmosphere, and emotionally vulnerable songwriting.
Their 2006 debut album ‘In Vogue’ helped establish the band on Rise Records, while later releases including ‘Worse Than A Fairy Tale’ and ‘The Hot N’ Heavy’ further cemented their reputation within the scene.
The band’s influence has continued to resonate years later, with Vice previously praising the group for helping shape a more emotionally expressive style of post-hardcore during a period dominated by heavier “bro-rock” trends.
After spending over a decade inactive, core members Daniel “Stills” Stillman, Danny Cooper, and Jake Hansen reunited in 2024 for a series of surprise live performances before launching their official comeback with new music in 2025.
With “Cyanide” now added to that growing list of reunion-era material, Drop Dead, Gorgeous appear to be pushing full speed ahead into the next chapter of the band.
