Drowning Pool have linked up with rising artist Sorry X for a brand new collaborative single, “The Wrong One.” The track arrives alongside an official music video, giving fans a first look at the chemistry between the Texan nü-metal veterans and their latest creative partner.
The collaboration came together after the band discovered Sorry X’s cover of Drowning Pool’s breakout hit “Bodies.” That performance quickly caught their attention.
Guitarist C.J. Pierce explained:
“We stumbled on Sorry X’s cover of ‘Bodies’ and were impressed by the sheer brutality of her vocals. We knew we had to collaborate.”
For Sorry X, the opportunity was equally meaningful. Having grown up on the 2000s wave of nü-metal, working with one of the era’s defining acts marked a full-circle moment.
She shared:
“I’m a huge fan of Drowning Pool, and I grew up listening to the 2000s nu-metal era, so I was stoked when they reached out to me. I’m really proud of how this track came together and I hope fans will feel the intensity and raw energy of this collaboration.”
“The Wrong One” blends the band’s trademark groove-driven heaviness with Sorry X’s commanding vocal presence, resulting in a track that nods to the genre’s roots while pushing into fresh territory.
