Edge Of Paradise have unveiled a new official music video for “Martyr (Monster),” continuing the expansive sci-fi narrative that surrounds their 2025 album Prophecy. The Los Angeles-based cinematic hard rock outfit push the concept further this time, pairing the track with a visually driven storyline that explores identity, control, and humanity in an increasingly artificial world.
The video also marks the first on-screen performance from the band’s new keyboardist Alex Nasla, whose presence expands the group’s already layered sound. In a unique twist, the latter half of the clip reimagines “Martyr (Monster)” as an instrumental piece, allowing the composition to evolve beyond its original album version.
Frontwoman Margarita Monet explained the deeper meaning behind the song and its visual counterpart:
“This song is about realizing you can either surrender to the system that shapes you or reclaim your own identity. Perspective decides whether you’re seen as a martyr or a monster. I believe both live within us, but the power lies in choosing which one defines your reality.”
She added that the video was designed to visually mirror those themes:
“The video expands that idea visually, exploring fractured possibilities, perspective, and what it means to stay human in an increasingly artificial and controlled world.”
Monet also spoke about Nasla’s addition to the band and how his role reshapes the track’s arc:
“We are very excited to welcome Alex Nasla to the band, as he extends the cinematic sound even more. His keyboard solo marks the beginning of a shift, and in the instrumental version it explodes into something far more expansive — like stepping into a larger reality.”
The instrumental reworking of the song coincides with the upcoming audiobook companion to the band’s graphic novel Hologram and Slaves to Forever, further tying Prophecy into a broader multimedia universe inspired by dystopian science fiction.
Fresh off recent North American tours supporting Delain, Xandria, and Lovebites, Edge Of Paradise are now gearing up for a busy 2026 festival run, with more live appearances expected to be announced.
