(HED)P.E. Announce 80s Covers Album New And Improved, Stream “Every Breath You Take”

(hed)p.e. have announced a May 30th release for their new 80s-themed covers album, New And Improved, due out through Cleopatra Records. In addition to putting their unique spin on tracks from The Police, AC/DC, Depeche Mode, and more, the compilation also includes revamped versions of their fan-favorite songs “Bartender” and “Raise Hell.”

Among the 13 tracks is their newly released cover of The Police’s 1983 hit “Every Breath You Take,” now streaming below.

Vocalist Jared Gomes shared his excitement for the nostalgic project:

“Putting a twist on these 80s songs was so magickal for me. Was nostalgic and at the same time futuristic. We have our own method and vibe for turning these songs into our own thing. I’m super stoked with how it turned out and I can’t wait for people to hear my take on Willie Nelson’s track. I think this record will generate tons of smiles. Thanks everyone!”

Fans of this era may recall that Gomes previously fronted a new wave band called The Clue, making this retro-inspired project a fitting return to form. The band also paid homage to the 70s with last year’s 70’s Hits From The Pit.
