Eidola have debuted a new music video for “Niflheimr,” the closing track from their forthcoming seventh studio album, “The Will To Power.” The newly released visual brings the record’s final composition to life, with the band opting for a deeply personal approach that reflects the song’s themes of loss, acceptance and letting go.
The video was co-directed by Eidola vocalist Michael Wells alongside videographer Mel Torres. The song itself takes its title from Niflheimr, a primordial realm in Norse mythology, with Wells explaining how its meaning connects to the band’s broader artistic journey and the experiences that inspired the track.
Wells offered the following statement about the song and its accompanying visual:
“Eidola has always been an exploration of the human condition. Of suffering, love, loss, rebirth, and the relentless pursuit of understanding something greater than ourselves. Every record has been another chapter in a story we’ve spent much of our lives trying to tell, and every chapter has brought us a little closer to understanding what it means to finally let go.
‘Niflheimr’ exists in the space between acceptance and surrender. It’s about confronting the impermanence of everything we hold dear, finding peace in the things we cannot change, and recognizing that even the most beautiful journeys were never meant to last forever.
Having personally lost so many friends and family in the last few years, this song hits home for me deeply. The video itself is a love letter to the fans who have supported us and stuck by us through everything we’ve been through on our journey together.”
“The Will To Power” is scheduled to arrive on November 20 through 3DOT Recordings, the label founded by Periphery. “Niflheimr” serves as the album’s closing track, offering listeners an early glimpse into the emotional territory explored throughout the upcoming release.
