Elder Premiere “Capture/Release” Music Video

Psychedelic rock outfit Elder have launched the official music video for “Capture/Release,” the latest single from their upcoming album ‘Through Zero.‘

The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming seventh full‑length, which is set to drop on May 29, 2026, via Blues Funeral Recordings, Stickman Records, and Bird’s Robe. The “Capture/Release” clip was directed by Sean Miller and gives fans an early look at the heavier, riff‑driven side of the new record.

Vocalist‑guitarist Nick DiSalvo described the song as a departure from the band’s usual sprawl, leaning into a more direct, high‑energy approach.

“‘Capture/Release’ is uncharacteristic in the Elder catalog for its relative straightforwardness and energy, which grew out of an older song fragment from the beginning of the decade.”

DiSalvo also framed the track as a response to the pressures of creating in the modern digital age.

“Being a creative person in this day and age is an exercise in self‑exploitation, fighting for visibility in a living hell of content creation and paid advertising just to keep your head above water.”

“‘Capture/Release’ is about the feeling of being caught in this technocratic nightmare that’s been imposed on us all, and reaffirming the reasons we create as humans in the first place – purely for our own free expression and joy.”
