Hardcore project Experience have confirmed they will proceed with the release of their debut EP following the recent arrest of former guitarist Brady Ebert.
Ebert — previously known for his time in Turnstile — was arrested last week after allegedly attempting to run over the father of Turnstile vocalist Brendan Yates. The incident quickly drew widespread attention across the hardcore community and marked another turbulent chapter surrounding the guitarist in recent weeks.
Prior to the arrest, Ebert had resurfaced musically through multiple new ventures. Among them was The S.E.T., a project he helped write material for before its debut release was later picked up by Flatspot Records. Around the same period, Ebert also became increasingly active on social media, publicly taking shots at his former band Turnstile, years after his departure from the group.
Those online actions ultimately led to his exit from that project as well.
Soon after, Ebert appeared again alongside a new group of collaborators sharing rehearsal footage online — a lineup that would eventually become Experience. Following his arrest, however, the band confirmed that he is no longer involved with the project.
Despite the situation, Experience say they intend to continue forward, emphasizing that their upcoming release was a collaborative effort created by the remaining members.
In a public statement, the band explained:
“We want to address what’s been circulating this week.
What happened involving Brady is serious and deeply upsetting. Our hearts are with everyone affected. We don’t take any of this lightly.
At the same time, we’ve made the decision to continue moving forward with our release.”
The band went on to outline the thematic structure behind their upcoming 12-song EP ‘Stay Present’, describing it as a concept centered on confronting the present moment rather than escaping it.
“Our 12 song EP Stay Present was built around a simple idea facing what’s in front of you without running from it.
The record is split into four parts called movements.
Reaction is impulse fast immediate.
Control is where space shows up and decisions take over.
Weight is pressure carried without noise.
Awareness is clarity while still in motion.”
They further emphasized the philosophical intent behind the project:
“Every song lives in the present tense. No past no future just choices happening in real time. There’s no villain in this record. The struggle is distraction. The goal is awareness.”
The group concluded by confirming that the EP will still arrive as planned this June.
“We’re still releasing the project as planned this June.”
