Billy Gould Confirms Faith No More Return: “We’re Gonna Give It A Go”

After teasing fans with a social media post on June 16th and news surfacing that the band had signed a global deal with promoter 30e, Faith No More bassist Billy Gould has now officially confirmed that the alternative metal innovators will return to the road in 2027.

Speaking with Rock Talk, Gould revealed that the band believes they still have time left to perform their physically demanding material the way it was intended.

“Yeah, we’re gonna do it. We’re gonna play. Yeah, we’re gonna do it. I think… you know, our music is very physical, and a big concern is, like, pretty soon we’re not gonna be able to do this the way we wrote it. We wrote it as 20-year-olds and it and it’s always been very physical. It has to be that way. I can’t play the song if I’m not like that, honestly. With my bass parts, I just can’t do it. But I think… I mean, we all kind of decided, like, we think we can do it. I think that we can do it for a few more years, and we can do it the right way, so we’re gonna give it a go.”

The welcome news follows several years of uncertainty surrounding the band’s future. In 2021, Mike Patton stepped away from touring to address mental health issues, resulting in Faith No More canceling their planned dates. Although Patton eventually returned to the stage with several of his other projects, Faith No More remained inactive.

Comments from various band members in the years that followed suggested Patton’s reluctance to resume activities with Faith No More had become the primary obstacle to a reunion. However, recent months saw tensions ease considerably, ultimately paving the way for the band’s newly confirmed return.

No specific dates have been announced yet, though more information on the band’s 2027 plans is expected to emerge in the coming months.
