Texas-based progressive metalcore outfit Fervence have released a new music video for “Oculum,” a track featured on their latest full-length album, ‘Constructs,’ out now through Metal Blade Records.
Founding guitarist Trent Odneal explained that the song takes inspiration from the dark, abrasive atmosphere of Deftones’ self-titled 2003 album, blending those influences with a cinematic edge.
“This song draws a lot of inspiration from the grittiness in Deftones’ self-titled album. I really tried to make it feel dark, abrasive, human if you will, while maintaining a cinematic undertone, without overdoing it.”
Fervence are currently on a U.S. tour with Enthronement. The remaining dates are listed below.
