Texas-based progressive metalcore outfit Fervence have debuted a music video for their new single “Zenith,” while also announcing details surrounding their forthcoming sophomore full-length, ‘Constructs’.
The new album is set for an October 16th release via Metal Blade Records, marking the Austin-based band’s debut for the label. The newly released “Zenith” video was directed by Tom Flynn and serves as the latest introduction to the 11-track effort.
“Zenith” explores the emotional weight of prolonged health struggles and the feeling of being trapped within one’s own body. Vocalist Stevie B. elaborated on the inspiration behind the track:
“The lyrics were inspired by the feelings of hopelessness and depression that come with prolonged health struggles. Dealing with health challenges in your own life, seeing people you love struggle, and just feeling like there is no way out and nothing will ever get better.”
‘Constructs’ draws from the band’s established blend of aggressive metalcore, atmospheric textures and melodic passages, with influences ranging from Deftones and Architects to Silent Planet.
Originally formed in Reno, Nevada in 2019 as a solo project from guitarist Trent Odneal, Fervence released their debut full-length, ‘Ghost’, in 2020. The project returned in 2023 with Stevie B. joining as vocalist, followed by touring across the West Coast and the release of the ‘Realm//One’ EP.
Now based in Austin, Texas, the band spent 2025 developing the material that would become ‘Constructs’. Odneal took a more composition-focused approach to the new record, leaving additional room for the vocals while emphasizing atmosphere, song structure and larger choruses.
Produced by Odneal and guitarist Austin Bentley, with Zack Ohren handling the mixing and mastering, the album revisits elements of ‘Ghost’ while expanding upon the band’s sound.
“As we have grown together and individually, so have our views on existence and the concepts discussed. ‘Constructs’ is a refinement of our ability to convey some of these thoughts in a more generally relatable way, while also adding a bit more insight on other tangential topics.”
The album’s artwork comes courtesy of Billelis, with the 3D design reflecting the record’s themes surrounding identity, relationships, ambitions and the temporary nature of human experience.
Bentley explained:
“The idea that our identities, relationships, ambitions, and experiences, though beautiful, are ultimately constructs that eventually collapse was something we wanted reflected in the imagery itself. Like the songs themselves, the artwork brings an ominous and almost mythological quality to bear.”
‘Constructs’ will be available digitally, on CD and on vinyl in Pearl Bone Marble and Shimmer Gold + Black Marble variants.
Pre-orders are available via Metal Blade Records.
