Finger Eleven are officially back with their first new studio album in over ten years. Last Night On Earth, the band’s seventh full-length, will arrive November 7th via Better Noise Music, with longtime drummer Steve Molella handling production duties.
The Canadian alt-rock/nu-metal outfit also dropped their second single from the upcoming release: “Blue Sky Mystery”, featuring guest vocals from Richard Patrick of Filter.

Scott Anderson (vocals) described the song’s theme as centered on obsession:
“The more it’s in front of you, the less you understand it, the more you’re obsessed with it. You can’t get your mind around it, or away from it.”
He also noted that the chorus carries a Black Sabbath influence.
James Black (guitar) shared that the track was once titled “10 Ton Saber”, joking:
“I just pictured some guy in Star Wars with an enormous, bazooka-sized lightsaber.”
As for how the collaboration came together, Richard Patrick added:
“Working with Scott, James, Rick, Sean and Steve could not have gone smoother. They are good guys and total pros… Recording ‘Blue Sky Mystery’ was a lot of fun.”
Reflecting on the direction of the new album, Rick Jackett (guitar) said:
“There was this feeling that we were making a big rock record. We had done that early in our career… it was time to go back and embrace that bigness of the sound. Even the soft songs sound big.”
