Greek power metal veterans Firewind have announced their new concept album ‘Gods, Myths & Titans’, which is set to arrive February 19 via BLKIIBLK.
The band have also kicked off the album’s campaign with “The Legend Of Achilles,” a new single inspired by one of Greek mythology’s most famous warriors. A lyric video for the track is available below.
Guitarist Gus G. explained that the band have wanted to tackle Greek mythology for years, with the new record taking roughly two years to complete.
“We’ve wanted to make a concept album about Greek mythology for a long time, and finally we got around to it. It’s been two years in the making, and our goal was to create the most epic album in the history of the band.”
“Adding cinematic and orchestral elements to our classic metal sound gave a whole new layer, enhancing the style of Firewind.”
Gus G. added that each song explores a different myth, with Felipe Machado also creating individual artwork for each track.
“Each track is a gate to a different myth. We went all in with the visual side as well and worked with Felipe Machado, who created unique artwork for every song.”
