Fit For A King have surprise released a new standalone single titled “Blood Pact” through Solid State Records.
The track arrives less than a year after the release of the band’s latest album, ‘Lonely God,’ and reunites the Texas metalcore outfit with producer Daniel Braunstein, whose recent credits include work with Spiritbox and Dayseeker. Braunstein also handled production duties on Lonely God.
An official visualizer for the song has accompanied its release, giving fans their first look at the band’s latest material.
Vocalist Ryan Kirby explained that the song tackles the consequences of decisions made by those in positions of authority and the broader impact those choices can have on society.
“‘Blood Pact’ is a song that, unfortunately, has become more relevant as time goes on. It’s about how the decisions of people in power affect the rest of us. And how as a human race, we face the reality of destruction, even when it’s not the majority making the decision.”
While it remains unclear whether “Blood Pact” serves as a preview of additional new material or stands on its own as a standalone release, the track continues the band’s blend of crushing metalcore aggression and socially conscious themes.
