Five Finger Death Punch have released the music video for “Nails In The Coffin” alongside the arrival of their tenth studio album, ‘Legacy.’
The video debuted online on July 31st, the same day the multi-platinum alternative metal band officially released ‘Legacy’ across digital platforms. Physical vinyl editions of the album are currently scheduled to arrive on September 18th.
Discussing the new single, guitarist Zoltan Bathory explained that vocalist Ivan Moody intentionally leaves his lyrics open to interpretation, allowing fans to connect with songs in their own way.
Bathory shared his personal perspective on the track:
“Ivan never defines the meaning of his lyrics. He doesn’t want to rob the fans of their own interpretation, so a song means whatever it’s supposed to mean to each listener.”
He went on to explain what “Nails In The Coffin” means to him personally.
“To me, ‘Nails In The Coffin’ is about burying the things that tried to bury us. Every doubt, every prediction that we wouldn’t last, every catastrophe that was supposed to be the last nail in our coffin.”
Bathory concluded by reflecting on the band’s longevity and continued success.
“20 years later, we are still here and we’re the ones holding the hammer.”
