Canadian deathcore outfit Flesh Prison have officially signed with Papercut Recordings, marking a new chapter for the band. The label launched last summer and is spearheaded by Brand Of Sacrifice guitarist Michael Leo Valeri—also the founder of Shibori Threads—alongside Fit For A King bassist/vocalist Ryan “Tuck” O’Leary, who is also affiliated with Beacon Management.
To celebrate the signing, Flesh Prison have released a new single titled “Sent Through A Woodchipper,” accompanied by a music video that signals the beginning of this new era for the band.
Speaking collectively about the track, Flesh Prison stated:
“‘Sent Through A Woodchipper’ is a fast, violent release of anger rooted in the raw energy of the OG MySpace deathcore era. Lyrically, the song explores retribution and justice against those who commit heinous acts (genocide, displacement, and abuses of power). Sonically, we wanted something aggressive, relentless, and unapologetic, with no excess or restraint.
Working with Cody Stewart on the mix and master helped push the track to its heaviest and fullest form. Dropping this single and video as our first release with Papercut Recordings marks a new era for our band—heavier, angrier, and more focused than ever.”
