Flotsam And Jetsam Announce New Album ‘Rats In The Temple’, Due Out In August

Veteran Arizona thrash metallers Flotsam And Jetsam have officially announced their sixteenth studio album, ‘Rats In The Temple’, which is scheduled to arrive on August 28th through Napalm Records.

The upcoming effort will feature 13 new tracks, with frontman Eric “A.K.” Knutson promising a particularly massive and aggressive outing from the long-running thrash outfit.

“This record is a BEAST, truly our best effort to date!! Do yourself a favor. Dim the lights, grab a drink, put the headphones on, and crank this up. You will not be sorry you did!!!”

Although the band have yet to release the album’s first single, an accompanying press release teased a record packed with classic thrash intensity, technical precision and modern heaviness.

According to the release, ‘Rats In The Temple’ kicks off with the “stadium-ready hooks” of “Harvesting The Hate” and “Damnation”, before diving into more intricate thrash territory with “Absolution.” Guitarists Michael Gilbert and Steve Conley are also highlighted throughout the album for delivering a blend of classic first-wave thrash energy and modern aggression across songs like “Blame The Knife”, “Rats In The Temple”, and “The Ghost Behind My Door.”

Elsewhere, drummer Ken Mary and bassist Bill Bodily reportedly take center stage on the anti-war anthem “A Taste For War,” while tracks like “Anthem For The Broken” and “Not Going Down That Way” continue the record’s relentless pace.
