Texan alternative metal band Flyleaf have added several new single certifications in the United States, all stemming from their 2005 platinum-selling debut, Flyleaf.
The album’s lead single, “I’m So Sick”, has officially reached gold, platinum, and 2x platinum status as of September 5th. Follow-up single “Fully Alive” has now been certified gold and platinum, while the third single, “All Around Me”, has achieved 4x multi-platinum, marking its highest certification since going platinum in January 2010.
In the U.S., a platinum album or single represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Certifications now account for physical and digital sales as well as streaming: 10 permanent track downloads equal 1 unit, 1,500 on-demand audio/video streams from an album count as 1 unit, and 150 streams of a single track count as a track-equivalent unit.
