Former Mushroomhead Vocalist Jeffrey Nothing Diagnosed With Cancer

Heartbreaking news has emerged from the metal community as former Mushroomhead co-vocalist Jeffrey Nothing (real name Jeffrey Hatrix) has revealed his cancer diagnosis, just months after the tragic loss of his wife, Stacy Hatrix, to the same disease. Known for his hauntingly melodic voice and theatrical presence, Jeffrey Nothing was a founding member of the Cleveland-based alternative metal band, contributing to their iconic sound for over two decades before his departure in 2018.

Earlier today, Jeffrey Nothing’s daughter, Mea, launched a GoFundMe campaign to support her father during this difficult time. In the campaign’s introduction, she shared:

“My dad has recently been diagnosed with cancer, just months after losing my mom to the same thing. Due to this, he may have to stop working during his treatment. Anything means everything. Thank you.“

Sharing the campaign on his own account, Jeffrey Nothing added:

“I really wanted to keep this to myself. I was diagnosed a couple months ago. It will be very hard to continue working with the treatment path I have chosen. Thank you for anything you can do to help. I know everyone is going through a lot.”

Jeffrey Nothing’s wife, Stacy, tragically passed away in April 2024 after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was just 38 years old.

Since departing from Mushroomhead, Jeffrey Nothing has continued creating music, releasing solo tracks and collaborating with other artists. His resilience and creativity have inspired countless fans, and his legacy in the metal community remains undeniable as he now faces this personal battle.
