Galder (aka Tom Rune Andersen) has shared exciting updates regarding the reactivation of his black metal project Old Man’s Child. Following his departure from Dimmu Borgir last August, Old Man’s Child has revealed their first live performances in nearly 26 years and is also working on their first new material since 2009.
On March 22nd, Galder took to social media to provide insight into the band’s progress, stating:
“First OMC rehearsals in years! Feels good! I know some people are curious about the lineup, so here’s a little update. Since we haven’t been on stage for 26 years(!), we have to make the best of it. Flying people in from across the world isn’t an option right now, so I’ll be working with local musicians I know and have worked with before.
I’ll likely bring in some vocal help (Born of the Flickering style), but I’ll still be handling some of the vocals myself to focus on my performance on stage. Just to clarify, this is separate from OMC studio recordings, which is a different matter. I’m being careful about announcing any names here as things might change, but I can confirm that Tjodalv will be returning to play drums this summer. Cheers, and have a nice weekend!”
Old Man’s Child has the following shows lined up:
06/04-07 Solvesborg, SWE – Sweden Rock
06/25-28 Oslo, NOR – Tons Of Rock
07//25-27 Cut Bank, MT – Fire In The Mountains (first-ever U.S. show)
08/08-09 Helsinki, FIN – Hellsinki Metal Fest
08/29-31 Volos, GRE – Golden R. Festival
11/22 Zurich, SWI – Dynamo
