Following last night’s (March 19th) performance at Earthdom in Tokyo, Japan, hardcore outfit Gel are rumored to have called it quits, according to local promoter Japangigs. However, one notable detail from the footage of the show has raised further speculation—founding guitarist Anthony Webster was absent, with Candy/Ekulu guitarist Michael Quick filling in instead.
Rumors have circulated for months that Webster quietly exited the band, though no official announcement was ever made. As of now, the band has not made any public statement regarding the breakup or lineup changes. Stay tuned for further updates.
