Genghis Tron have officially announced their return with a brand-new full-length record, ‘Signal Fire’, marking their first album since 2021’s ‘Dream Weapon’.
The cybergrind collective will release the 10-track album on June 12th via Relapse Records. The record was co-produced by the band alongside Seth Manchester (Battles, BIG|BRAVE), who also handled mixing duties.
Frontman Tony Wolski—also known for his work with The Armed—described the lyrical direction of ‘Signal Fire’ as a dystopian vision inspired in part by video game creator Hideo Kojima:
“‘Signal Fire’ envisions a Kojima-esque dystopia of endless proxy warfare where the deluge of available information has outmoded the human ability to parse it. A world where those amoral, shameless and cunning enough can literally reshape the reality at their whim through sheer insistence. Honestly, this is probably about, like, late 2027…”
The album also introduces a new lineup shift, with Kenny Szymanski of The Armed officially joining the band on bass. Keyboardist/programmer Michael Sochynsky noted that Szymanski’s addition brought a new dimension to the record after originally contributing to just a handful of songs.
The first taste of the album arrives via opening track “I Am All,” which serves as the lead single alongside a new video directed by Aaron Jones.
