Texas death metal outfit Frozen Soul have dropped a new single titled “No Place Of Warmth,” and it comes with an unexpected collaborator. The track features guest vocals from Gerard Way, frontman of My Chemical Romance.

The song serves as the opening track and title cut from Frozen Soul’s forthcoming third studio album, No Place Of Warmth, which is set for release on May 8 through Century Media Records.

Way’s appearance bridges two distinct corners of heavy music, bringing the My Chemical Romance vocalist into Frozen Soul’s crushing, old-school death metal framework. The collaboration marks a notable crossover moment between the emo and extreme metal scenes.

The upcoming album will also feature additional guest contributions. Members of Machine Head appear on “Invoke War,” while Sanguisugabogg are featured on “Dreadnought.”
