Swedish occult rock outfit Ghost continue to dominate with their music, as two of their singles have now earned platinum certifications in the United States.
The band’s 2019 track “Mary On A Cross”, which gained massive popularity years after its release thanks to a viral TikTok resurgence, has officially reached 2x platinum status. The song’s retro throwback vibe and infectious melody have made it a standout in Ghost’s catalog.
Joining the platinum ranks is “Dance Macabre”, the second single from their 2018 album Prequelle. Both certifications were officially announced by the RIAA on November 13th, 2025.
In the U.S., a platinum single represents 1,000,000 units sold, while gold signifies 500,000. These numbers account not only for physical and digital sales but also streams, with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit, and 1,500 on-demand audio or video streams equaling one album unit. For individual tracks, 150 streams count as a track-equivalent unit.
With these new milestones, Ghost further solidify their presence as one of the most enduring and viral acts in modern rock and metal.
