GOJIRA’s Joe Duplantier Sidelined From Guitar Duties On French Tour Following Hand Injury, Car Bomb’s Greg Kubacki Stepping In

Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier will be unable to perform his full guitar parts on the band’s upcoming French tour after suffering a right-hand injury that required minor surgery. Despite the setback, the fall run will proceed as scheduled, with Car Bomb guitarist Greg Kubacki stepping in to assist onstage.

Duplantier addressed the situation earlier today, November 23rd, sharing an update with fans:

“A message from Joe… Hey! I hurt my hand a few weeks ago. After getting minor surgery, I’m on the mend but unfortunately I won’t be able to play all my guitar parts on the next tour in France… No worries though, we hired our good friend @carbombgreg of the incredible @carbombofficial to ‘Give us a hand’. The mood in our camp is up there though, as we’re embarking for an interesting experience on our own turf. Show must go ooooon”

The timing is notable for Kubacki, who just last week announced his new solo project Sun Guts, accompanied by the debut of the title track from the upcoming album Kilonova, due out February 10th.
