Melodic hardcore newcomers Good Teal have added a bold new cover to their live repertoire, taking on Rage Against The Machine’s iconic protest anthem “Killing In The Name” during a recent hometown-area performance.
Fan-filmed footage has surfaced from the band’s April 3rd show at Blkbrn in Highland Park, NJ, capturing their high-energy rendition of the politically charged 1992 track. The performance also served a dual purpose, as Good Teal used the set as part of filming for an upcoming music video, with additional details expected to be revealed soon.
More than three decades after its original release, “Killing In The Name” continues to resonate as one of heavy music’s most enduring protest songs. The track crossed a major milestone earlier this year, surpassing one billion streams on Spotify in January 2025 — underscoring its lasting cultural impact.
Good Teal introduced themselves to listeners last August with their self-titled debut EP, and the band are already expanding their touring footprint. Next up, they’re scheduled to appear at the 2026 edition of ‘Break Free Fest’ at the Ukie Club in Philadelphia, PA on June 14, marking their first performance in the city.
