Gordon “Kaelin” McIntyre, best known for his time as the vocalist of Pennsylvania hardcore outfit CDC, has passed away.
McIntyre was a member of CDC before departing the band in 2006. In the years since, he continued working in the touring side of the music industry as a touring professional for other artists.
Following news of his passing, CDC member Kurt Fowles shared a lengthy tribute to his longtime friend, reflecting on more than two decades of memories they shared on and off the road.
“I don’t even know what to say. I honestly can’t believe this is real.
Kaelin wasn’t just a friend. For more than 20 years, we lived a lifetime of memories together. We traveled the entire world, shared beds, shared stages, shared countless crazy nights, and were there for each other through some of the biggest moments of our lives.
So much of my life is tied to memories with Kael. There are places I’ve been, things I’ve experienced, and moments I’ll never forget because he was there.
It’s impossible to process that someone who was such a huge part of my life is suddenly gone. I keep thinking about all the memories, all the laughs, all the miles, and everything we experienced together.
I can’t believe you’re gone, Kael.
Rest easy, brother. I’ll carry those memories with me for the rest of my life.
RIP Kael.”
The Acacia Strain‘s Devin Shidaker also remembered McIntyre, specifically thanking him for his years of work on the road with the band.
