Gradience Channel MySpace-Era Metalcore Energy On New Single “Deathwish”

Danish metal outfit Gradience have dropped a new music video for their latest single “Deathwish,” continuing their run of new material under Metal Blade Records following their signing last year.

The band have been steadily rolling out fresh releases as they build momentum with their new label home, with “Deathwish” leaning heavily into a blend of nostalgia and modern aggression.

Guitarist/vocalist Jakob Lærke described the track as a direct tribute to the MySpace-era metalcore and deathcore scene that shaped the band’s early influences.

“‘Deathwish’ is our homage to the MySpace-era songs from bands we grew up listening to like Killswitch Engage, Job For A Cowboy and The Black Dahlia Murder but with our signature rap and melodic twist.”

He added that the goal was to capture a high-energy, pit-driving feel designed for live chaos.

“We wanted to create a song with a lot of forward momentum that gets the circle pit going.”
