Metalcore frontman Greg Puciato has addressed ongoing fan speculation about his departure from supergroup Better Lovers, emphasizing that there’s no hidden drama behind the split. Earlier today, February 24th, the band announced they had parted ways with Puciato:
“Better Lovers is parting ways with Greg Puciato.
We’re proud of the work we’ve done together but we are moving in another direction.
To all of our fans, thank you for riding with us these past few years. We’ve accomplished so much in such a short time with your support and we’re still beyond excited to continue down this road with you.
The four of us are finishing writing a new album which we are extremely proud of and currently looking for a new singer.
Thanks for your understanding, we’ll see you soon.”
Puciato, known for his work with The Black Queen, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and as a touring member for Jerry Cantrell, responded with a separate statement:
“NO BAD BLOOD
EVERYONE’S COOL
DON’T SPECULATE
LOVE THESE PEOPLE AND LOVE THE BAND
ROOTING FOR THEM ALL COLLECTIVELY AND INDIVIDUALLY
THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR MAKING THE LAST FEW YEARS SPECIAL
LONG LIVE THE FROG”
Despite this, speculation continued online, prompting Puciato to clarify further on his Instagram story:
“SOMETIMES THERE ISN’T MORE TO THE STORY.
EVER THINK OF THAT? HOLY SHIT WHAT A THOUGHT.
PEOPLE GOING SEPARATE WAYS WITHOUT DRAMA? THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE!
SOMETIMES PEOPLE SAY OKAY HERE’S WHERE I WANNA GO, HERE’S WHAT I WANT, SOMEONE ELSE CAN WANT SOMETHING ELSE, AND THE SHARED MOMENT IN TIME IS OVER.
THINGS AREN’T LESS VALUABLE JUST BECAUSE THEY’RE IMPERMANENT. THE MOMENT WILL ALWAYS BE THERE IN MEMORIES AND IN SONGS. AND SOMETIMES, IN CARTOON FROGS.
AND MAYBE, DOWN THE LINE, THERE WILL BE ANOTHER MOMENT. OR MAYBE NOT – BOTH ARE EQUALLY OKAY.
@jordanfrombuffalo @mitchbhavin @qooseshoes and @willputney ARE ALL S-CLASS PEOPLE. PLEASE CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THEM.
@betterloversband”
Puciato’s posts make it clear that the split was amicable, and he continues to express support for his former bandmates while encouraging fans to respect the natural course of creative collaborations.

Legend 😂 Gives it straight.
Being a musician directions and paths can really change at the drop of a hat or overtime. Doesn’t always have to be drama 🤘
No matter the field, people want to do their own thing and they should if and when they can. It is great to be part of a winning team and sometimes better (not always) to start your own team. Burning bridges is sometimes necessary and even righteous – but often comes with subsequent regret. Moving on without the drama we all seem to crave is purposeful and the best for all….
Maybe he wants to chill and do another Black Queen album instead of screaming his lungs out
Tj Blackburn he is working on black queen and a new solo
They said new direction and that’s good because I don’t see anyone fitting the role of Greg in the music that they were making so far better than him. I was never a fan of ETID. I loved better lovers. Just my opinions no shade on etid
Greg >>>>>
Greg is a clown. He ruined Dillinger. better lovers is the Temu ETID. They aren’t anything without Keith
Joe Nagel he took Dillinger from good to great. ETID have 1 amazing song (Moor) and thats it.
Adrian Roberts your opinion. That’s cool.
Two of my all-time favorites – Dillinger and ETID. When Greg and ETID joined forces it was mind blowing, even though not same game. Greg seems like a top notch guy, met him a couple of times during Dillinger and Cantrell concerts in Tel Aviv, Israel and he was nicest and so down to earth. GOAT.
