Greg Puciato has detailed how longtime collaborators Danny Lohner and Chris Pennie ended up joining the current live lineup for The Black Queen’s ongoing anniversary tour celebrating the 10th year of Fever Daydream.

The expanded touring configuration brings together both familiar and unexpected connections, with Lohner (formerly of Nine Inch Nails and A Perfect Circle) and Pennie (formerly of The Dillinger Escape Plan) stepping into key live roles for the synth-driven project.

Speaking in a recent interview with Loudwire Nights, Puciato reflected on how both musicians became involved, tracing Lohner’s connection back to early collaborative moments in the industrial and alternative rock world, including work tied to Underworld soundtrack sessions and live interactions involving Nine Inch Nails.

Puciato also described how a casual conversation eventually led to Pennie rejoining his orbit in a touring capacity after years away from the live circuit.

He explained that discussions initially centered around the structure of the live show itself, before evolving into the idea of bringing a drummer into The Black Queen’s otherwise electronic-focused setup.

Beyond the personnel additions, Puciato also reflected on how his long-running relationships with both musicians influenced key career moments, connecting a chain of collaborations that ultimately shaped future opportunities across multiple projects.
