Heaven Shall Burn has dropped “My Revocation Of Compliance,” the lead single from their highly anticipated tenth studio album, Heimat. The track comes with a visually striking music video directed by Thomas Liebchen, released today (April 10th). Heimat is set for release on June 27th via Century Media.
Guitarists Alexander Dietz and Maik Weichert handled the production duties for the album, with Tue Madsen (known for his work with The Black Dahlia Murder and Kataklysm) overseeing the mixing and mastering. Reflecting on the album’s title, which translates to ‘home‘ or ‘homeland‘ in German, Weichert shared his perspective:
“Heimat is not meant to reflect the narrow, exclusionary interpretations often used by populists. Rather, it’s the beginning of a broader exploration. This album is about the concept of Heimat in a larger context—different people’s homelands and the spiritual sense of ‘home’ that shapes our thoughts and actions.”
The song itself reflects Heaven Shall Burn‘s current mindset. As the band puts it:
“It’s time to stop being swayed by empty rhetoric. The greatest challenge for our generation is to live by our own principles and refuse to accept the widespread ignorance of today’s most pressing issues. The fake debates, divisive rhetoric, and envy-driven discussions pushed by those in power must not distract us from the real problems at hand. We believe the iconoclastic imagery in the video embodies this message powerfully.”
Additionally, Heaven Shall Burn’s “Numbered Days” features a special guest appearance by Jesse Leach, the vocalist of multi-platinum metalcore act Killswitch Engage, who happen to also have a song called “Numbered Days” that Leach originally wrote and performed on their iconic Alive Or Just Breathing album.
