Florida deathcore outfit Heavy//Hitter are officially in the studio working on their long-awaited debut album, and the band are taking a decidedly old-school approach to recording it.
The group revealed on October 6 that they are currently tracking the record without a click track, with the performances being recorded live rather than built piece by piece.
“Currently in the studio recording our album. We aren’t using a click. And everything is being tracked live. The way Deathcore should be.”
The announcement offers an early glimpse at the recording philosophy behind Heavy//Hitter’s first full-length effort, although the band have yet to reveal a title, release date or additional details surrounding the album.
For a group known for their aggressive take on deathcore, the decision to capture the performances live could give the forthcoming record a particularly raw and immediate feel.
