Organoclorados is a brazilian rock band. During the university times, the first songs brought the idea to set up a rock band. They played and sang songs at parties and meetings and the name of the band came from the chorus of their first song. Other members came and the presentations took place with unstable formations. The band finally consolidated in 1990, gaining consistency in rehearsals and much more concerts. In 2001, they released the album Princípio Ativo, which led the band to do many more shows and spread music on the radio. In 2016, they released the EP Organoclorados Remasters and started releasing songs on the streaming music services. The album Quântico came out in 2018 and from 2019 on they began recording and launching a singles series, but due the pandemia the album Efeito Residual was released in digital format on December/2020. Their newest album Saudade da Razão came on March, 2022.
Organoclorados makes a dense and energetic sound, although melodious, with arrangements that try to escape from the commonplace, combining dancing cadences with strong lyrics. The main influences come from the post-punk and gothic of the 1980s and the psychedelia of the 1960s, but they also flirt with the blues. The lyrics have symbolism, reality and nihilism interactions, always looking for unique ways to express thoughts, opinions and feelings, sometimes with scientific terms and paradigms to address everyday themes, novels and reflections or existential, social and ecological criticisms.
