Forged in Mossy Head, FL during the onset of the Covid 19 pandemic in a combined force of Texas and Floridian musicians (Carnage Guisada / DethTruck) to bring Brutal Thrash Fun to the masses to make bodies move and decimate earholes. The group played early showcases cutting their teeth at 1%er MC Clubhouses in the panhandle of FL and doing gorilla underpass shows in New Orleans all during the lockdown. Shortly after this Ox45 recorded their debut demo at Studio 101 in the Crescent City while the city and nation still reeled from the pandemic. Afterwards, and a couple earlier shows under their arms the band began recording their long-awaited debut EP which is currently being mixed & mastered, Unfortunately, one of the principal players ended nuking himself and the band entered into a slump period while continuing to write and scout for new players. Promotional beers were made to help promote the band and forthcoming EP with the slogan and tagline from their song “NUKE THE WHALES” which reads “NUKE YOURSELF, YOU GOTTA NUKE SOMETHING!” Since then, the band has established both TX and FL based franchise extensions to help enable the band to perform whenever possible anywhere from TX to FL. In Feb 2022 a newly christened TX branch of OX45 performed in College Station, Tx for as part of an art show of lead singer Will Thompson. This year will see the OX return to FL and New Orleans for a series of shows mixing both band extensions with principal members Matthew Ray & Will Thompson holding down the thrones and being the sole consistent performers & writers. A 2nd still untitled EP is currently being recorded in the region of the Florida Panhandle known colloquially as LA (Lower Alabama).
