Initiate have replaced the cover artwork for their latest EP, ‘With Love // With Rage’, after discovering a copyright issue involving the original design.
The Californian melodic hardcore outfit originally released the effort on August 7, but have now unveiled a new piece of artwork created by longtime collaborator and friend Kiabad Meza.
Rather than simply replacing the original design, Initiate wanted the new artwork to preserve the ideas and meaning behind the first cover. The band explained their decision in a statement:
“We recently discovered a copyright issue with the EP artwork, so we needed a new cover that could carry the same message and meaning. It was important to us that we worked with someone we trusted, and Kiabad was the first person who came to mind.
Kiabad has been a close friend and creative partner since day one, creating so much of the artwork that’s helped shape this band over the years. We’re incredibly grateful that he stepped in and brought his own vision to this piece while still honoring the heart of the original.
We’re so excited to share his take on With Love // With Rage and can’t thank him enough for his friendship, support, and talent. It means a lot to have someone who’s been part of this journey from the very beginning continue to leave their mark on it.”
The new artwork from Meza is now being used for ‘With Love // With Rage’.
