Insomnium have officially announced their tenth studio album, ‘Netherworlds’, which is scheduled for release on October 16 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Alongside the announcement, the Finnish melodic death metal veterans have debuted “Gleam In The Black,” the latest single from the record, accompanied by a new music video directed by Patric Ullaeus (Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, In Flames).
Speaking on the track, vocalist and bassist Niilo Sevänen explained:
“Being one of the faster songs on the new album, this is a track that should get the crowd moving when played live. It definitely carries a classic Insomnium spirit. The lyrics tell a dark and mysterious love story, capturing the mood and atmosphere of the entire album. We are doomed to wander the nightly woods, searching for something lost long ago, something we can reach only in our dreams. That single gleam of light amidst the blackness.”

One of the album’s most notable moments arrives with “The Hour Grows Late,” which features guest appearances from Amorphis members Tomi Joutsen, Tomi Koivusaari, and Santeri Kallio, creating a rare collaboration between two of Finland’s most celebrated metal acts.
Insomnium will support the release of ‘Netherworlds’ with an extensive run of festival appearances and headline dates before joining Amorphis and Unto Others for a major European tour in early 2027.
