Iron Maiden Drummer Clive Burr’s Niece Set for WWE NXT Debut as Lizzy Rain

Iron Maiden’s legacy is heading into an unexpected new arena, as the niece of late drummer Clive Burr is set to make her WWE debut next week on WWE NXT.

Rayne Leverkusen will compete under the name Lizzy Rain, adopting the “Maiden of Metal” persona as part of her introduction to World Wrestling Entertainment’s developmental brand.

Rain was spotlighted in a vignette during the April 21 episode of NXT, where she delivered a character-defining statement:

“Both I and heavy metal will never, ever, never ever die.”

A decorated figure on the European independent wrestling circuit, Rain has appeared for promotions including PROGRESS Wrestling, ATTACK! Pro Wrestling, and EVE before signing with WWE earlier this year. Her tryout during last year’s SummerSlam weekend reportedly saw her stand out as one of the strongest performers in attendance.

Her wrestling persona directly ties into her family history. Clive Burr, who played drums for Iron Maiden from 1979 to 1982 and appeared on the band’s early classic albums, passed away in 2013 following complications from multiple sclerosis.

Rain has previously confirmed in interviews that her “Maiden of Metal” identity is a tribute to Burr, though she noted she did not have a close relationship with him due to his declining health later in life.

With her WWE debut imminent, Lizzie Rain arrives in NXT carrying both an established indie pedigree and a direct link to one of heavy metal’s most influential early lineups.
