Jack Osbourne has shared additional details on the planned 2027 return of ‘Ozzfest’, including confirmation that the revived festival will operate as a single-day event rather than a multi-day festival.
The long-running metal and rock festival, founded by the Osbourne family, was last held in 2018. Sharon Osbourne has previously indicated that the 2027 revival is expected to include several destination stops, with Villa Park in Birmingham, UK already confirmed as one of the locations.
The Birmingham venue carries additional significance for the event, as it hosted ‘Back To The Beginning’ in July 2025, the farewell performance for Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath.
While speaking with SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, Jack discussed the process of bringing his family’s festival back. His comments were transcribed by Blabbermouth.net.
“It’s been interesting, ’cause it’s kind of like finding the old car in the shop and being, like, ‘All right, let’s get this engine going.’ But it’s cool. There’s a lot of excitement around it. And we’re gonna announce pretty soon — I think in the next couple of weeks we’re gonna announce kind of who the main headliner is and where we’re doing it. So it’s been nice.”
Jack also confirmed that the revived ‘Ozzfest’ will be presented as a one-day event, with the possibility of multiple individual stops rather than a festival spread across several days.
The challenge, according to Jack, is finding major artists who are available and willing to participate in an increasingly crowded festival landscape.
“It’s just really difficult now. It’s really difficult to kind of, like, ‘All right, who’s doing what?’ ‘Cause a lot of huge bands now are doing their own festivals, they’re doing their own thing, so it’s, like, ‘All right, who’s not got their own festival? Who’s available? Who’s reasonably priced?’ Because with all these huge festivals, artists are, like, ‘Yeah, I’ll do it for, like, 10 million dollars.’ You’re, like, ‘Eh.’”
Previous comments from Sharon Osbourne have suggested that Villa Park will serve as the launch point for the festival’s return, with several U.S. dates being considered afterward.
The Osbournes are also expected to place an emphasis on artists who have either shared a connection with Ozzy or have been influenced by his career, while incorporating newer generations of rock and metal artists into the lineups.
One name already generating plenty of fan speculation is Judas Priest. The legendary metal band were unable to participate in ‘Back To The Beginning’ due to previously scheduled commitments, despite their lengthy history with Ozzy and Black Sabbath. Priest had also previously been booked for what was expected to be one of Ozzy’s final tours before his health forced him to step away from touring.
YUNGBLUD is another artist who could potentially feature prominently in the revived festival. The younger rock artist has developed a close relationship with the Osbourne family and performed a Black Sabbath cover during ‘Back To The Beginning’, earning his first GRAMMY Award for the performance.
For now, the identity of the main headliner remains under wraps, although Jack’s latest comments suggest fans should not have to wait much longer for that announcement.
