Jason Aalon Butler Lands Lead Role In New Short Film ‘Rust God’

Jason Aalon Butler — best known as the vocalist for Letlive. and Fever 333 — is set to make his acting debut with the upcoming short film ‘Rust God’.

The drama/thriller was written and directed by Daniel McCartney and centers around a rising rapper whose growing fame forces him to confront the darker pressures surrounding success.

According to a description shared via social media on March 12th, the film follows:

“Anthony Angel, the fast rising rapper known as ‘Rust God‘, battles the pressure of newfound fame, industry expectations and racial oppression. A crucial mistake on the night of a sold out concert leads him to a crossroads where his relentless roots emerge and his killer instincts are his only pathway to remedy the mess he has made.”

McCartney also shared a statement explaining why Butler was chosen for the lead role:

“Jason was the first and only person I asked to take part as the lead in this short film and that’s for a reason. His intensity and talent for performing arts are exactly what I was looking for to tell this story. Working with him was a pleasure and an honor and will undoubtedly happen again. Can’t wait for everyone to see his amazing performance in this movie.”

The role marks Butler’s first venture into acting after years of commanding stages with both Letlive. and Fever 333, where his theatrical and high-energy performances have become a defining part of his reputation as a frontman.
