Legendary filmmaker and composer John Carpenter has released another preview of his upcoming multimedia project, unveiling the heavy new single “Revenge” alongside the arrival of his new graphic novel ‘Cathedral’.
Known for scoring iconic horror classics including ‘Halloween’, ‘The Thing’, and numerous other films, Carpenter once again blends his signature cinematic atmosphere with heavier, guitar-driven compositions on the new track.
“Revenge” serves as the final advance single from ‘Cathedral’, a multimedia release that pairs Carpenter’s first-ever graphic novel with a companion metal-leaning album created alongside his son Cody Carpenter and longtime collaborator Daniel Davies.
The ‘Cathedral’ graphic novel is available now through Storm King Comics, while the accompanying album arrives August 7 via Sacred Bones.
A visualizer for “Revenge” is available now.
In support of the project, Carpenter also has several upcoming public appearances scheduled, including August 8 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA, followed by appearances at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago, IL from August 14-16.
