Legendary filmmaker and composer John Carpenter has released “The Ferryman,” the latest single from his upcoming metal-inspired album, Cathedral.
The new track arrives alongside an official visualizer, offering fans another preview of Carpenter’s latest musical project. Best known for directing and composing classics such as Halloween and Escape From New York, Carpenter is once again blending his signature cinematic style with heavy, atmospheric music.
Cathedral is part of a larger multimedia release that also includes Carpenter’s first-ever graphic novel. The graphic novel is scheduled to arrive on August 4, while the accompanying album will be released on August 7.
Joining Carpenter on the project are his son, Cody Carpenter, and longtime collaborator Daniel Davies, whose résumé includes work with Karma To Burn and CKY.
With “The Ferryman” now available, fans have another taste of the dark, cinematic soundscape Carpenter has crafted ahead of the full release of Cathedral.
