Former Ingested vocalist Josh Davies has publicly denied allegations of sexual misconduct that surfaced online and ultimately led to his dismissal from the deathcore band last month.
At the time of the split, the group issued a brief statement confirming his removal and announcing a touring replacement:
“Effective immediately, Josh Davies is no longer a member of Ingested. Adam Mercer will be handling vocal duties on the upcoming Bodysnatcher tour.”
Davies addressed the situation today (March 7th) in a lengthy statement posted to Instagram, where he also shared screenshots of messages and other materials that he claims challenge the timeline and context of the accusations made against him.
“I categorically deny all allegations that have been circulated on social media. Any suggestion that I have abused or taken advantage of anyone is completely untrue.”
In his statement, Davies discussed multiple accusations that have circulated online, including one tied to an alleged incident dated July 7th, 2022. He claimed he has documentation showing that he was working earlier in the day, attended a concert later that evening, and returned to work early the following morning.
Davies also addressed claims involving communications with an individual he says he believed was around his own age at the time. According to his statement, he was 21 and says he was unaware the person was under 18 when he initially contacted them.
He further disputed a separate allegation made anonymously in a video, stating that evidence indicates the individual involved was actually 21 at the time. Davies also rejected claims that he met the person while they were intoxicated, stating he was sober during that period of his life.
Davies additionally stated that he has not been contacted by law enforcement regarding the allegations.
“To date, I have not been contacted by the police and I am not currently under investigation.”
He added that he has begun seeking legal advice and may pursue further action regarding what he described as false claims and harassment.
“Harassment, malicious communications and defamation carry both criminal and civil consequences, and I will not accept the continued spread of false allegations.”
Davies concluded his statement by noting that, given the seriousness of the situation and the potential for legal proceedings, he will not be making further public comments at this time.

The only thing I did find concerning here is the fact he was 21 at the time he was talking to a woman he didn’t realise was ‘under the age of 18’… So how old was she? 17? 16? Is this actually a big deal?
I’m 48 and married to a woman six months younger than me – but I don’t understand and will never understand this frankly ridiculous obsession people have today with relationships between older teenagers and a person in their twenties.
My Mum was 16 and my Dad was 20 when they met in the 1960s. The very idea that my Dad was all about control and manipulation is utterly ridiculous. If there ever was an ‘imbalance of power’ it was firmly in my Mum’s favour – she had far more power in that relationship.
Throughout my life, I’ve known of relationships between 18 and 21 year-olds, 16 and 24 year-olds and I think the biggest gap I knew of was 18 and 32. In every instance there was NO control or abuse or manipulation and almost all are still together today.
I have, on the other hand, known of many, many toxic and abusive relationships, and every single one – and I mean EVERY. SINGLE. ONE – was a relationship involving a couple with an age gap of six months to a year.
Not all people are the same, and not all couples are the same. Stop judging others based on ‘one-size-fits-all’ rhetoric.
