King Buffalo have announced their seventh studio album, ‘Doomsayer’, and have given fans their first taste of the record with the newly released single “The Slick And The Dead”.
The Rochester, NY psych rock trio have set December 4th as the release date for the seven-track effort. The band will issue the album independently in North America, while Stickman Records will handle its release throughout the UK and Europe.
Guitarist/vocalist Sean Roa produced and mixed ‘Doomsayer’ and says the album took shape organically through extensive jam sessions at the band’s new studio.
“‘Doomsayer’ originated in early 2026 out of many hours of jam sessions in our new studio space, playing around and seeing where it took us. We didn’t really have an end goal in mind of what we were going for. We were simply exploring ideas and seeing what ended up speaking to us the most.”
Roa explained that the band’s experiences since their previous album ultimately influenced the lyrics and direction of the new material.
“So much has happened, both as a band and in our personal lives since our last record, that ended up becoming the inspiration to many of the lyrics on ‘Doomsayer’. I think as a result, this is some of our most upfront, direct and riff-driven work to date. We are incredibly proud of it and can’t wait for it to get out into the world.”
Pre-orders for ‘Doomsayer’ are scheduled to launch through the band’s website on September 25th at 12:00 p.m. EST.
King Buffalo will also hit the road extensively in support of the album, with L.A. Witch, Doom Gong, Handsome Jack and Spirit Mother among the acts joining them on various dates.
