King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have unveiled the title track from their forthcoming 28th studio album, “Alien Metal”.
The new song offers another glimpse into the Australian band’s latest creative evolution, with the upcoming record leaning heavily into EDM and rave-inspired sounds. According to the band, the album was written and recorded using a Eurorack synthesizer, marking a notable departure from their more traditional psych rock foundations while continuing their reputation for stylistic experimentation.
The full album, ‘Alien Metal’, is currently expected to arrive this August through the band’s own (p)doom records imprint.
The release should fit naturally alongside the group’s increasingly popular rave sets, several of which are already scheduled as part of their upcoming touring plans.
