King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Finish Recording Their 28th Studio Album

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard appear ready to add yet another release to their already massive catalog, with the band confirming that recording has wrapped on their 28th studio album.

The Australian psych rock powerhouse shared the update through social media on April 24, signaling that new music could be on the horizon in the coming months.

Despite being nearly five months into 2026, the prolific group have yet to issue a new full-length this year. That unusually quiet stretch now looks set to end soon with another new chapter from one of modern rock’s most relentlessly productive bands.

Speculation has also surrounded a possible guest appearance from bluegrass standout Billy Strings, who was reportedly seen in the studio with the band last month.

At present, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have only a handful of live dates announced for 2026, including the return of their ‘Field Of Vision’ festival in Colorado and a three-night stand in New York shortly after.
