Californian melodic metalcore outfit Kingdom Of Giants have launched their latest single “Respawn,” accompanied by a new music video marking the band’s first release in their next chapter.
The track is the first to feature new bassist/vocalist JT Gutierrez, who officially replaces former member Jonny Reeves following his departure to join The Amity Affliction.
Gutierrez described his introduction to the band as a major personal milestone, reflecting on the long journey that led him to the group.
“‘Respawn’ is the start of a new chapter for the band — and for me stepping in. I’ve been working for 15 years trying to get to where I am today, and joining this band marks a turning point in my life that I will forever be grateful for.”
He added that the transition has been smooth and creatively fulfilling, praising his new bandmates and the collaborative environment.
“Working with the guys has been an incredibly smooth transition and they have become a very important part of my life. I couldn’t be more excited for what’s next.”
Vocalist Dana Willax also commented on the release, calling “Respawn” one of the strongest Kingdom Of Giants tracks in recent memory while highlighting Gutierrez’s versatility and impact on the band’s evolving sound.
“‘Respawn’ is my favorite KOG track in as long as I can remember… I absolutely love how diverse his voice is and how well we work together and contrast each other simultaneously.”
Lyrically, Willax explained that the song centers around cycles of unhealthy relationships and the tendency to return to situations that repeatedly cause harm despite knowing better.
He also co-directed the music video alongside Stephanie Zapolska, while a press release for the single notes that additional new Kingdom Of Giants material is expected in the near future.
