KISS Confirm New Music Plans For 2028 Digital Avatar Shows In Las Vegas

KISS have revealed new details about their upcoming digital avatar live experience, confirming that new music is already in development for the production set to launch in 2028.

The iconic hard rock band previously wrapped their farewell tour in December 2023, before announcing plans to continue their legacy through a fully digital avatar format. That move followed the sale of a majority of their rights—including publishing, likeness, and branding—to Pophouse Entertainment in a deal reportedly worth over $300 million.

The avatar project is being developed in partnership with Industrial Light & Magic, the legendary effects company founded by George Lucas, with early motion capture work already completed by the band themselves.

Speaking in a new interview, bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons described the experience as far beyond a traditional concert:

“Show is not the right word. When you are parachuting into a volcano, I would call it a show. These are semantics, but you know, I’m not anti-semantic.”

Simmons also emphasized the global vision behind partnering with Pophouse, which previously found success with a similar ABBA avatar production overseas.

He added that the experience will feature the band’s most recognizable “iconic face personas,” noting that fans will see versions of characters like The Demon and The Starchild, while leaving some casting interpretations open-ended.

Importantly, Simmons confirmed that new KISS material will be integrated into the avatar production:

“Exactly what that means, written by us. We have songs done.”

He further described the project as a fully immersive experience that goes beyond traditional stage production, aiming to engage multiple senses through advanced visual technology.

Guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley also weighed in on the concept, stating:

“It will be a true immersive experience that really magnifies the band and the iconic nature of what we’ve built for 50 years. It’s very different from anything else that’s been out there. It has really no connection to some of the experimental holograms that were tried in the past, which were really very primitive. This will be virtually seeing us. My avatar looks just like me, not a cartoon or an artist rendition. The great thing about being an icon is you can stay young forever.”

With development underway and new music already written, KISS are positioning their 2028 avatar launch in Las Vegas as the next major evolution of their legacy.
