KISS Receive Kennedy Center Honors From U.S. President Donald J. Trump

Last night, KISS were celebrated at the Kennedy Center Honors, with U.S. President Donald J. Trump personally presenting the legendary rock band with their medallions. The prestigious event recognizes Americans who have made a lasting impact on culture and the performing arts. Other honorees included actor Sylvester Stallone, disco icon Gloria Gaynor, and more.

Frontman/guitarist Paul Stanley, bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons, and drummer Peter Criss were all individually honored. The band’s late guitarist Ace Frehley was also posthumously recognized, with his daughter Monique Frehley accepting the award on his behalf. Trump remarked on the honor, saying:

“The members of the incredible rock band KISS: Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss and Ace Frehley — who now is resting in peace, and his beautiful daughter is here to accept the award. Thank you very much. Thank you for being here.”

During the presentation of Simmons’ medallion, Trump could also be heard noting the long-standing friendship he shared with the band.
