Controversial Irish hip-hop trio Kneecap have responded to Disturbed vocalist David Draiman following remarks he made about them yesterday, July 12th via X (formerly Twitter). The back-and-forth stems from a recent interview with Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, who labeled Kneecap as “the Rage Against The Machine of now” during a conversation on ‘The Strombo Show’ earlier this month.

Morello praised the group, stating:
“They’re clearly the Rage Against The Machine of now, like there’s them, and there’s a gap to the next one.”
He further defended their outspoken nature:
“What they’re doing in their art is what people could probably stand to do more in their lives: to really speak truth to power. And, you know, Kneecap are not terrorists. What is terroristic is, you know, 20,000 dead Palestinian children. That’s the story. Not, I mean, some Irish rappers who don’t like that that’s happening. [That] should not be the story.”
Draiman, a vocal supporter of Israel and an advocate for his Jewish heritage, was less than pleased with Morello’s endorsement, citing Kneecap’s controversial public stances on the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The Irish trio’s vocalist Mo Chara was charged with a terror-related offense in the UK last November after allegedly brandishing a Hezbollah flag on stage. Further backlash followed their Coachella performance this year, where they accused Israel of genocide during a visually provocative stage show.
Draiman, who has made headlines himself for signing an artillery shell aimed at Hamas during his time with the IDF, took to X yesterday to criticize Morello and Kneecap:
“Shameful. Truly. Wish I could say I was shocked. Guess my family doesn’t count, when it comes to my ‘friend’s’ virtue signaling for those who support terror, and incite Jew hatred.”
Kneecap wasted little time firing back this morning, writing:
“We don’t care what religion anyone is…or if they’ve one at all. We love all sound cunts. Smiling and signing bombs dropped to murder kids and other people’s families just makes you a straight up cunt. Simple as. Free Palestine.”
Draiman would respond directly to the group across a string of posts:
“Here’s the thing, and I’ll speak to you in small words, so you understand. That shell was meant for HAMAS. You know, the organization who has sworn to murder all Jews, not just Israelis, time and time again, including my family. You shoot at Jews? Expect Jews to shoot back.”
He continued:
“All innocent lives lost in this conflict are due to Hamas using their own people as cannon fodder so that they can gain the sympathy of those who are only too eager to jump on the Jew hating train. If the hostages were released and Hamas surrendered, the bloodshed would end… But neither you, nor Hamas really want that. Because without dead martyred Palestinians to fuel your zeitgeist, both you and them lose power.”
He concluded:
“Enjoy your 5 minutes gentlemen. It could have been done with your art, but instead you chose to do it with hatred. Bye now.”

I like how David Draiman signs bombs that killed several civilian people – many of which were Israeli – and he does not see a problem with his endorsement, but if you’re an Irish Rap band, and you say Free Palestine at your own fucking show now you’ve gone too far. Autographing the instruments that killed the very people you say you’re vested in protecting is a photo Op, but saying that’s not okay again AT YOUR OWN SHOW is hatred? Bro she should have divorced you faster.
Robert Bruce Winans nice story bro any proof to where those bombs were dropped exactly? Yeah I didn’t think so but it makes for a good story doesn’t it? BTW those artillery rounds were most likely fired into Lebanon but that defeats your propaganda doesn’t it
Andy Lemon So to recap, you’re rant is : Yeah, but what if it’s not? Hey quick question – Does it matter? Let’s say you’re 100% right, what difference does it make who his autograph is aimed at? When he posted it, that’s what HE THOUGHT was happening. That’s why he said he signed it you tin hat nut bag. I understand this is hard for you, but the actual problem is Night Club Mr Clean is yelling that he wants people to be peaceful towards him and the Isreali Government while he’s autographing their weapons with a smile posting it everywhere like a proud parent. I didn’t think empathy was this challenging of a concept for you but eh, anyways you were saying something something propaganda?
Robert Bruce Winans never seen someone signing a bomb for his enemy? An enemy that slaughtered 1200 innocent civilians! It was signed for hamas! Hamas terrorists that deliberately hides behind civilians!!
Pat Hoogeveen Okay, but that still doesn’t make sense. He thinks it’s funny to sign weapons to hurt his enemy, but gets mad when he thinks people aren’t sensitive to him? That’s lame as shit. That would be like getting sucker punched by a stranger, and when you go to get yours back they cry about being non-violent. You signed up for that, you don’t get to back out and pretend you care about peace. It’s a really simple concept.
Here comes the kneecap and disturbed tour
